I’m trying to plot a trip to Europe this Christmas. I’m finding it increasingly hard to do all the plotting by myself. I don’t have very much money, so I’m wondering if I can afford a travel agent or not.

You don’t pay a travel agent silly! They are reimbursed by the airlines and other businesses they book you with, go ahead and call one!!
Don’t get a travel agent. You don’t need one. Save yourself money and do it yourself. Travel agents charge you @ $20 for booking airlines tickets. Which you can do yourself for free online. And they charge you for booking your hotel they just add it onto the cost of everything else. Go to Expedia.com or Orbitz.com.
